How to read fees and coverage
The archive includes every published Transfermarkt overview row for 99 seasons from 1926/27 to 2024/25. Historic source coverage may be incomplete. Nominal EUR figures may include bonuses or co-ownership rights and are not audited club accounts.
Loans have a separate ranking. Returns, academy moves and unknown amounts are excluded from fee rankings. A dash does not mean a free transfer. Seasons are documented; exact dates are not invented. Position is the player’s archive category, not necessarily their role at the transfer date.
